Barry’s Shine walk for the Ninjas September 2017
I’ve been bitten by the endurance bug over last few years and always wanted to complete a triathlon. Completed first Olympic distance in Oct 2014 in 3h40. Pushed it up a notch and did the Lisbon 70:30 (1/2 Ironman) in May. Felt great at finish after 6h39 on the road. Figured I felt so good I would be able to complete a full Ironman (well now we going to find out what 15 or 16 hours out on the road is going to feel like :)) Completed it in 2016 in Wales – 14h50m.
Why Cancer support? My brother Chris passed away in March 2014 after fighting his illness for over 2 years. I always thought it would be someone else’s family, how wrong was I. He was an amazing man, brother, friend with so much love and fight – this was not enough. My mum was diagnosed earlier this year so this is a small “fight” and is nothing compared to what he went through in his last year, and what my mum currently is going through.
Thank you so much……
Amazing cause… Good Luck to you both x
