Mike’s Shine London Sept 2019 Night Walk

I’m walking two half marathon's with a load of Cancer Ninjas chums to fundraise for Cancer Research UK in their Shine London night walk but I need your support ...please!
88.65% Raised
£2,216.25 raised of £2,500.00 goal of which £341.25 was Gift Aid
54 Donations

This September I will be doing two half marathon’s in memory of my gorgeous wife Sharon who sadly passed away from breast cancer in December 2016, as well as for John, Jeremy, Aunty Francis, Aunty Jill, Grandma and all those others throughout the world who have also all been lost to, or suffering with this horrid disease. You can read more about mine and Sharon’s story and why I started Cancer Ninjas here.

The Shine Walk video on this page from 2017 and 2018 will give you an idea of what I will be doing on Saturday 21st September, blinged in glow and flashing lights with many Cancer Ninja friends and some 12,000+ other Shiners. Shine in previous years has been an amazingly emotional night and experience that raised over £2.3m, and I am hoping 2019 will be better still!

I will also be doing a second half marathon with some Ninja chums that can’t make it on the night, but still want to support our amazing cause, and so will be walking another day with them also. Poop, two looooooooooong walks again for me!!!!

If you are taking part in Shine, thank you, but please do not sponsor me, as you have already kindly spent enough to join the event. That knocks out a load of people that might have donated to my efforts, so yikes, see how my fundrasing goes!!

Each year Cancer Research UK’s scientists get closer to beating cancer, and they’ve helped double survival rates in the last 40 years, but we can’t stop there. Only with our continued support can they turn this research into breakthroughs that save millions of lives.

Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s ground-breaking work. Donating through this page is simple, fast and totally secure.

Your details are safe with Cancer Ninjas and all money donated will be gratefully received by Cancer Research. Please donate what you can now, it will be hugely appreciated. If you can please remember to Gift Aid your donation too, its an extra 25% for nothing!

If you have any friends, family or colleagues that would also help us in our fight against cancer please do share my page. If you have come directly to this page, please do look around the Cancer Ninjas website and sign up to their newsletters for future fun and events.

If you are interested to see how much the Cancer Ninjas Shine team overall has raised so far for this event, and who the other Cancer Ninjas taking part are, you can find out by visiting the Shine information page on this site. Just go to Large Sponsorship Events and then CRUK Shine London Walk 2019.

Go team!

Thank you so much.

Stay well

Mike

I asked Harry how much he thought we should sponsor you and he said “a penny a foot”. So I calculated that it would be about £692.00 as the walk is approx 69,217 feet. He said ‘no, I meant a penny for each of his feet!”. I shouldn’t have asked. T

Hi Mike really well done on all your fundraising, you’ve done an amazing job.
This is close to my heart this year too as my brother-in-law in the USA has pancreatic cancer, diagnosed in March last year. I figured that donating to the Cookham team and then walking for another charity covered my whole extended family!
